At Formula 1’s 75th Anniversary event at The O2, all 10 teams, their drivers, and Team Principals gathered to reveal their 2025 liveries. To mark the occasion, Louis Vuitton introduced a bespoke Trophy Trunk, crafted to honor the milestone. This exclusive piece will be awarded to the season’s top driver, continuing the luxury brand’s deep connection with motorsports.

Meticulous Craftsmanship and Iconic Design

Designed at Louis Vuitton’s historic atelier in Asnières, France, the Trophy Trunk reflects the house’s tradition of excellence. It features two folding front panels, adorned with a hand-painted “V” for “Victory” and “Vuitton.” The black and white Damier design recalls Formula 1’s iconic colors and finish line pattern. Inside, black leather and microfiber protect the trophy. The exterior includes classic leather trim, brass corner protectors, locks, and clasps—design elements used since the 1860s.

A Growing Partnership Between Fashion and Sport

Louis Vuitton and Formula 1 have strengthened their collaboration over the years. From 2021 to 2024, the luxury house crafted exclusive trophy trunks for the sport’s major events. As Formula 1 expands globally, this partnership continues to blend high fashion with elite motorsport, celebrating both style and performance. Ferrari has officially revealed the 2025 livery for its 499P Le Mans Hypercars, set to compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). Racing under the Ferrari – AF Corse team banner, the number 50 and 51 cars will continue the Maranello brand’s legacy while introducing fresh design elements inspired by the legendary 312 PB.

With the driver line-ups unchanged, Ferrari aims to challenge for both the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ World Championship titles in 2025 while defending its Le Mans crown. Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina, and Nicklas Nielsen will pilot the number 50 car, while Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado, and Antonio Giovinazzi will take the wheel of number 51. The first race of the season kicks off in Qatar on February 28.

A Modern Take on Ferrari Tradition

While maintaining its signature Rosso Ferrari red, the 2025 499P livery introduces a darker shade, reminiscent of Ferrari race cars from past decades. Giallo Modena continues to accentuate the bodywork, reinforcing the visual identity established by the team’s back-to-back Le Mans victories.

Key design updates include:

  • Glossy red finish for high visibility, especially during night races.
  • Matte accents, aligning with Scuderia Ferrari HP’s Formula 1 car aesthetics.
  • A reimagined cockpit stripe, extending the yellow diagonal from the lower section to the side pods, emphasizing the car’s dynamic form.
  • Improved aerodynamics, including a redesigned brake cooling duct system and front flicks added in 2024.

These changes create a sleek and modern look while ensuring optimal performance under race conditions.

Ferrari’s Championship Aspirations

Entering its third season in the Hypercar class, Ferrari has refined the 499P’s technical package to enhance reliability and performance. The car retains its hybrid powertrain, featuring a twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an 800V Energy Recovery System (ERS). This setup aligns with FIA WEC and Formula 1 regulations and shares technology with Ferrari’s latest supercar, the F80.

Over the winter, the team conducted track and simulator testing, optimizing aerodynamics, tire performance, and control systems. With these refinements, Ferrari aims to:

  • Consistently score points across all races.
  • Challenge for both the Manufacturers’ and Drivers’ titles.
  • Defend its Le Mans victory with strong performances from both cars.

After finishing third in 2024 and second in 2023 in the Manufacturers’ standings, Ferrari’s goal is clear: reclaim endurance racing glory for the first time since 1972.

2025 WEC Calendar and Key Races

The season opens with the Qatar 1812 km on February 28, following the Prologue (February 21-22) at the Lusail International Circuit. Other key races include:

  • Imola, Italy – April 20 (Ferrari’s home race)
  • Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium – May 10
  • Le Mans 24 Hours, France – June 14-15
  • São Paulo, Brazil – July 13
  • COTA, USA – September 7
  • Fuji, Japan – September 28
  • Sakhir, Bahrain – November 8

Ferrari Drivers and Team Leadership

Each driver expressed optimism for the season:

  • Antonio Fuoco (50): “We’ve fine-tuned the 499P and aim to fight for both championships.”
  • Miguel Molina (50): “Consistency will be key, and we aim for podium finishes in every race.”
  • Nicklas Nielsen (50): “Winning Le Mans in 2024 motivates us to fight for the world championship.”
  • Alessandro Pier Guidi (51): “We’ve optimized every aspect of the car and are ready to challenge at every circuit.”
  • James Calado (51): “The 499P has proven its potential—we now aim to turn that into championship success.”
  • Antonio Giovinazzi (51): “Our team has grown stronger. Now, we focus on winning at Le Mans again and securing the world title.”

Ferrari executives emphasized the team’s evolution:

  • Antonello Coletta, Global Head of Ferrari Endurance: “We are more experienced now and expect to be front-runners.”
  • Ferdinando Cannizzo, Head of Endurance Race Cars: “We’ve expanded the car’s setup window and improved aerodynamics for better race performance.”

With an enhanced car, experienced drivers, and refined strategy, Ferrari is prepared to take on the 2025 FIA WEC season with confidence.

The Bonhams Cars auction at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, presented by Mastercard, features an array of rare models, including a standout 2008 Force India VJM01 art car. Designed by abstract expressionist artist Dexter Brown, this Formula 1 car, chassis VJM01-05, sports a vibrant green, white, and orange livery, echoing later Force India designs, unlike the original 2008 version which lacked green.

A Piece of Racing History

The car was driven by Giancarlo Fisichella, covering 3,870 miles across 16 of the 18 Grand Prix races in the 2008 season, except for Monaco and Canada. It achieved the team’s best result of the year with a 10th-place finish at the Spanish Grand Prix. The VJM01 marked Force India’s debut season under Dr. Vijay Mallya, who acquired the Spyker team in 2007, with the car being a modified version of the Spyker F8-V11.

From Racing to Art

After its transformation into an art car, the VJM01-05 was auctioned in 2011 for charity, raising funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital and the Force India Academy, and was later retained by the team. It is now being offered in display form, complete with its original gearbox but without the Ferrari 056 90-degree V8 engine.

Signatures from Racing Legends

This unique art car also bears signatures from numerous prominent motorsport figures, including nine F1 world champions: Michael Schumacher, Sir Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, Niki Lauda, Damon Hill, Nico Rosberg, John Surtees, and Sir Jackie Stewart. Other signatures include Dr. Mallya and Fisichella himself. Dexter Brown expressed his excitement at the opportunity to paint a modern F1 car, noting it was a unique project that he was thrilled to see come to life.

Merging Passions of Cars and Art

Dr. Mallya praised the transformation, saying, “Seeing one of my Formula 1 cars turned into a painting is a wonderful initiative that merges two of my passions: cars and art. Dexter has created an exquisite piece, sure to captivate art collectors worldwide.”
