The sounds of the evening Namaz fill the air as the sun sets behind the Sharjah skyline, and the waves of the Corniche glitter. As the day fades into darkness, a few lights flare above the mosque. This is where the magic starts to happen. With 11 nights of colorful displays and music, the Sharjah Light Festival is poised to return.

This small display, located in the heart of a modern metropolis, can transport you back in time. The lively event is the first and only of its kind in the region. It draws tens of thousands of tourists to up to 20 locations across Sharjah each year. The designs are inspired by the region’s culture, folklore, and rituals. The Sharjah Light Festival will take place in 2022, and it will be hosted by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority. It will take place between Sunday, February 9 and Thursday, February 20.

Sharjah’s buildings are transformed into a kaleidoscope of inventive lights and color during the festival. The annual show comprises a variety of settings that are transformed with light and sound shows. Make sure to capture your Insta-Moments! Additionally, the event makes use of energy-saving lighting. To put it another way, all of the lights and projectors used were certified environmentally friendly.

The mosque is vibrantly coloured. The minarets have beautiful designs that illuminate the otherwise beige structure. They use innovative methods to create a light and music experience. Buildings have been used as a backdrop for visual tales on occasion. As a result, what appears to be a white structure during the day transforms into a colorful mosaic at night.
