Composing chaos into art with technology

“It’s a fine dance between me and the machine. Constantly pushing and being pushed by what happens,” Fillip says.

Fillip Isgro’s preferred art medium utilizes machine learning and finely tuned artificial intelligence models to create awe-inspiring artworks. Coupled with traditional digital art techniques, his instruments and conventional digital art methods enable him to influence and be influenced by his work.

“It’s a fine dance between me and the machine. Constantly pushing and being pushed by what happens,” he says. “It’s exciting when I set the stage for magic to happen, and something different happens altogether. It makes my inner wonder run wild with ideas. I’m not really sure what I’m going to get, and I think that’s exactly why my process is what it is.”

Fillip’s artistic philosophy is based on the idea that one must master the single constant in the cosmos, chaos, to properly produce engaging and thought-provoking art.

Chaos is unavoidable, he expresses, yet allowing ideas and abstract thoughts to flow can produce unexpected gems that both the author and the observer will find enjoyable. Machine Delusions concentrates on these ideas when composing pieces. Allowing chaos to direct more of the process appears to be an addictive strategy in an age of total control via how the world perceives us on social media, the music we listen to, and the individuals we choose to have access to our digital and physical lives.

Fillip resides in Toronto, Canada, and continues to further his skill by learning cutting-edge tools at the fringe of the emerging industry. His process is ever-evolving as, week by week, the landscape changes and new tools become obsolete overnight. To understand Fillip’s ability and ease with technology, we as onlookers must realize that, in the end, all that prevails is the artistic eye of human influence and the power of a good idea itself.

“Truly this is the start of a century of symbiosis between man and machine. It’s only the beginning. I’m excited to see where it all goes in my lifetime,” says Fillip.

Self-taught digital artist Albert Kiefer has made the decision to return to drawing as well. He creates artistic impressions and visualizations for business and governmental clients during the day. From items to historical reconstructions of structures and complexes, these representations cover a wide variety.

He has experience as a skilled digital artist and has also studied conventional painting and sketching. He became a perfectionist over time as a result of his computer work, and for many years he completely abandoned traditional work methods. He put off making that choice for a very long time since his perfectionism prevented him from using his traditional drawing skills once more.

At the start of his drawing journey, that was utterly unclear. When he had to choose a subject to sketch, that quickly became an issue because he wanted to create a new sketch every day! Being a computer artist, he spends a lot of the day sitting down. He goes for regular daily walks to make up for his lack of fitness.

He calls his aesthetic and writing approach “visual writing.” When he is laying down the linework, he simply moves his fine liners in a nearly continuous flow. He doesn’t want to go too literal because that would slow him down and make things sluggish.

The color is the same. To stay within the lines, he quickly and carelessly applied the color. He desires an informal procedure. These conflicting aims lead to aesthetics.

Artist-profile-Albert-Kiefer-1

He is a firm believer that prospective artists must put in the necessary time. Sometimes, he makes the analogy between learning to draw and learning to play an instrument, like the guitar. Anyone can purchase a guitar, but without regular practice, you will never become familiar with it and feel at ease playing it. That simply needs time. Adjust your expectations accordingly. Recognize that not everything you do won’t be excellent or beautiful like the examples set by your heroes. Never forget that the vast majority of extraordinarily successful artists worked incredibly hard.

Jyo John Mulloor is a Digital Artist and Art Director who has worked for almost 18 years. His passion has always been visualizing ideas and creating thoughts. A simple yet effective image, in his opinion, is worth a thousand words.

He created #letitbloomdubai based on the vision of his highness Shaikh Mohammed. In his opinion, the year 2040 will be a turning point.

The artist says it all started when he had a dream in which he was in the location where he stayed during his first days in Dubai. It was snowing when he peered out the window, and he could see the roads, buildings, and even the parking meters blanketed in snow. When he awoke, he told his family about his dream, and he recognized that the sensation the dream gave him could not be expressed in words. That’s when he decided to do what he did best: turn what he had seen in his dream into pictures and he started the series ‘#letitsnow’. He wanted to explore if he could make people feel the same way he did by creating visuals of a snowy Dubai or a Dubai that looked as it did.

Forest narrow street road, Adventure road through the green forest nature, Aerial top view forest, Texture of forest view from above, Ecosystem and healthy environment concepts and background.

He began his work as a graphic designer but soon discovered that making digital art images with Adobe Photoshop was his true calling. That’s how he got into the digital art field. He has been working in this field professionally in Dubai for over 16 years.

Jyo John Mullor is a crypto and NFT artist. For artists like him, the NFT and crypto realm has opened up new horizons. While some NFTs are being sold as art that isn’t even close to being art, He appreciates the rapid evolution of the art world as a result of the introduction of NFTs. A few prominent personalities in the crypto space asked him to be linked with them. He’s also produced a couple of NFTs on his own and sold them on the NFT market. His personal initiatives are the ones that provide him the most joy, and NFTs allow him to commercialize his personal efforts. Artists will need to upgrade their skills in order to compete in the NFT marketplace.

He confronted numerous hurdles while working on his new initiatives. Making snow was a huge undertaking. He has been to places where it snows, but he is unfamiliar with how snow reacts on various surfaces. As a result, he had to take notes in order to make snow. He also learned how to make snow in 3D. He understood exactly how greenery behaved for #LetItBloomDubai because he is from Kerala, a place known for its greenery. His difficulty for #LetItBloomDubai was that there are already green areas in Dubai, such as the area around the Dubai Frame. He had to overdo the foliage a little in certain circumstances to make it stand out as a creative image.

Albeniz Rodriguez, a master of caricatures and a digital artist from Santo Domingo, was born in the Dominican Republic. His career began when he was very young, and soon after being a classic artist, he got drawn to the world of digital art.

His works have a contemporary and comical style, with vibrant and bright colors that reflect his outgoing and communicative attitude. He enjoys caricature and portraying people and animals, analyzing their features in order to communicate their actual essence and make them able to grin.

At the age of thirteen, he made his first caricature for his father. In 1992, he began working as an illustrator for the Santo Domingo Ministry of Education. Then came the delight of winning the first prize for a caricature of the President of the Dominican Republic that was published in a local weekly.

His sources of inspiration are diverse, but current events, news, and world politics provide him with a steady stream of new ideas. Rodriguez believes that artists should not be influenced by the work of others, and that the key to success is to maintain our values and signature style throughout the process in order to keep the unique components alive.

Rodriguez uses a variety of materials to create one-of-a-kind works of art, including watercolour, pencil, ink, pastel, oil, acrylic, and computer painting. Ramon Oviedo and Hache are two of his favourite painters in Santa Domingo, and he appreciates Sebastian Kruger’s work all over the world. He has held numerous exhibitions and events to highlight the quality of his work. His most recent show was for a cultural event named “Art in the Cellar” in Rome.

Sotheby’s announced it will collaborate with the anonymous digital artist Pak for a sale this April. The auction house’s CEO Charles Stewart said that the sale will include both individual works of art as well as “open edition” NFTs, where multiple buyers can purchase minted tokens for the same work.

Sotheby’s is being vague on the details for now. More will be announced soon. But the auction house’s new alliance with the “omniscient designer/developer/wizard” and founder of Archillect, an AI-driven visual content sharing platform, is clearly a statement of intent.

Pak, Untitled (2020).

Sotheby’s said it chose Pak, who makes monochromatic designs featuring moving geometric forms, because of the artist’s established presence in the NFT realm. Pak has been working in the digital art sphere for over two decades.

“We wanted to partner with Pak because we are entering a whole new world with digital art, and we felt it was important to work with an artist who has been active in the community for many years,” Sotheby’s says in a statement. “While we can’t yet reveal full details of what’s to come, we want to be true to the democratic spirit of crypto and will be working together to attract as many people as possible to take part in this next adventure, so prepare for some surprises.”

“In the art world there’s been a pivot to digital in almost everything except the art, and now we’re getting there with the art as well,” said Stewart. Referring to a generation of younger collectors who feel less inclined to own physical works of art, Stewart said a main component of crypto art collecting is the notion of “borderless ownership.” He added, “Beyond the fact that you’ve got a new audience and new aesthetic, this really has the potential to bypass a lot of the traditional gate keepers and vetting processes of the traditional art world.”

A work by Mike Winkelmann, a net artist who goes by the name Beeple, made NFT history yesterday with his piece, “Crossroads”, netting $6.6 million on the secondary market via Nifty Gateway.

Nifty Gateway announced that the work had sold, as the painting by Beeple headed to sale online at Christie’s. Within hours, that piece had skyrocketed in price, and the work had been bid up to $1.8 million. Bidding will continue through March 11.

Within the fast-growing crypto art market, few names are as well-known as Beeple’s. In December, he made $3.5 million in a single weekend, only the second time the artist had ever offered his art on sale. The auction at Nifty Gateway broke records for digital art sales. Many of the works were immediately resold at inflated values—some at more than 1,000 percent of their original price.

Originally purchased by a user called Pablo for $66,666.60 on Nov 1, the new owner, who chose to remain anonymous, paid almost 100 times more, breaking the price record for a single NFT sale. Previously the record was held by CryptoPunk 6965 which sold last week for 800 ETH, with a sale value of $1.55 million.

Interest in NFTs skyrocketed last year, with more than $250 million worth of sales. The artist’s Everyday: The First 5000 Days (2021) shows the growing popularity of the digital art which was being auctioned at Christie’s.

“We’re at this moment in time where there could be a drastic shift—a demographic shift, a generational shift—when it comes to what excites younger collectors,” said Noah Davis, a Christie’s specialist in post-war and contemporary art in charge of the Beeple sale.
