Dubai Culture and Arts Authority is participating in Arabian Travel Market 2022, the leading global event for the tourism and travel industry, as part of its efforts to strengthen the emirate’s position as a leading cultural hub for incubating global artists and entrepreneurs and supporting cultural tourism and the creative economy in the emirate. The Authority is presenting the emirate’s most recent cultural and artistic landmarks as part of its participation in Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism’s pavilion No. (11) at the Dubai World Trade Center’s Hall No. (3) from May 9 to 12.

Dubai Culture is also celebrating Al Shindagha Museum, the emirate’s largest heritage museum, which takes visitors on a journey through the emirate’s social, economic, and political history through a group of heritage houses that have been converted into museums and feature the latest interactive display technologies. The ruling family’s residences, the Perfume House, the Social Values House, and the Dubai Creek: Birth of a City house are among the houses. In addition, the children’s pavilion provides an engaging educational experience for all family members. The Al Shinadagha Museum is scheduled to open in its entirety in Q4 2022.

Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture says, “Dubai Culture is keen to participate in ATM given its importance and position as a platform that helps us promote the emirate’s cultural monuments to large numbers of visitors from all over the world, especially Al Shindagha Museum, which is considered a Centre for preserving the region’s cultural heritage.” Our participation helps to promote the emirate’s civilization and strengthens its position as a worldwide cultural hub, an incubator for creativity, and a vibrant hub for talent, while also encouraging cultural tourism.”

In collaboration with MORROW Collective, the exhibition comprises four original paintings and a sculpture by Emirati artist Khaled Al Banna’s ‘Al Gargour’ series, whose concepts are inspired by the brilliant colours of traditional women’s clothes and Gulf fishing nets. ‘Khair Alkalam Fan,’ in which the artist highlights examples and wisdom systems, creating a distinctive artistic method for translating such phrases in a new style and concept, and ‘Khair Al Ard,’ in which the artist uses natural sand to simulate the earth, briefly describing the human relationship with the earth.

Dubai is a bustling metropolis that offers inhabitants and visitors unique opportunities to learn about the city’s unique legacy and historical roots through a variety of cultural events and heritage activities. Dubai Culture, as the government entity in charge of the emirate’s culture and arts sector, is dedicated to preserving Dubai’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage, transmitting it across generations and celebrating it, making it accessible to everyone, everywhere, and instilling feelings of pride and national belonging in their hearts.

As Dubai’s Expo 2020 nears the end of its six-month run in March, many national pavilions are beginning to consider the world fair’s long-term impact. This is the first time a world fair has been held in the Middle East and North Africa, and similar events have ushered in significant advances in technological advancement, improved international relations, and increased trade, culture, and tourism, so many people are hoping that the current exhibit will have a positive impact on the MENA region as well.

Expo 2020, which will be held in October 2021 after being postponed due to COVID-19, will bring together 192 countries, each with its own custom-built pavilion showing their innovations, customs, and future goals, in a gigantic complex designed to captivate visitors. It is a fantastic opportunity for MENA participants to generate interest in their nations.

This event serves as a crucial stimulus for Dubai and the United Arab Emirates. According to Maha Al Gargawi, senior vice president of political affairs at Expo 2020, “it has come at the ideal time to set the tone for economic recovery and create a good atmosphere for businesses to prosper.”

The UAE Pavilion, a three-story masterpiece shaped like falcon wings, takes guests on a journey through the emirate’s past, present, and future objectives. Much of the experience focuses on educating tourists about the UAE’s traditions and culture, but the final section – The Dreamers Who Do – is intended at encouraging individuals to relocate to or work in the UAE.

According to an independent economic analysis commissioned by Dubai authorities, Expo will have created 905,200 jobs in the region and benefited the UAE economy by $33.4 billion by 2031, according to Ernst & Young. When Expo ends next month, an estimated 25 million people will have visited and participated in its programmes, with everyone of them exchanging knowledge, culture, and business in some way, and contributing to the region’s future development.
